Hi!
I am happy to meet you!
Dynamic Quilting is here because I love to talk with and teach quilters about color and fabric and about how to shop for (build) and shop from (actually use!) their fabric stashes.
I have been quilting for over twenty years, since my kids were first born. My mother and grandmother taught me how to sew, embroider, knit and crochet. Textiles have been important to me for almost as long as I can remember.
I love the touch, texture, and flexibility of textiles, especially fabrics, threads and beads - so quilting is a perfect fit for me.
My favorite part of quilting? Choosing fabrics for my quilts. I love the challenge of pairing the design with fabrics, and finding the right combination of colors for that particular quilt. My "color sense" is self-taught. I saw combinations of colors and patterns I liked, and reverse-engineered how they were put together. Now, I can share my process with you, thanks to online learning.
I am a juried member in fiber of the League of NH Craftsmen. I have exhibited a piece at the League's Annual Craftsmen's Fair for nine years running, at their Gallery 205, and at other gallery venues in New Hampshire. The class I teach in-person is The Art & Science of Choosing Fabrics for Your Quilts and now I am sharing those concepts here online.
Color, value, pattern, and texture - they are all part of what makes a piece of fabric a great choice alongside its counterparts in a quilt - and together they offer a myriad of possibilities for my quilts - and yours.
Through Dynamic Quilting, I want to help quilters to "see" how to make their possibilities a reality.
Take a look around, sign up for my email list and download a free pattern or the Dynamic Quilting Color and Fabric Plan, like my Facebook page, buy my new book Conquering Color and Fabric, and watch for upcoming projects. I look forward to meeting you here online - and maybe even in person!
