It's a new year. :)
I had some vacation time with my family over the holidays, and I even had some time to re-think my branding. What do quilters think about most? Their next quilt - or quilts! What do they need to make all of those ideas? Fabric!
So: Your fabric stash. A palette of possibilities.
My goal this year is to create some short videos for a series called Stash with Attitude, with thoughts and ideas on building and managing a fabric stash. I also plan to design a group coaching program and either an online course or perhaps an in-person retreat, all focused on helping quilters make their possibilities a reality.
One other thing I did over the holidays? I stitched one block. That's it - but it was great!
I bought a pattern, Fishy Folks by No Hats in the House.
I also bought a couple of fabrics, including the Moda dots above (which I think looks like fish bubbles!) that matches the "red curry" accent color in my living room. The really cool thing? Look at all the fabrics I found - in my stash - for the fish!
It's been about a dozen years since I've done any paper-piecing. I'm guessing that I'll be lucky to get enough blocks for a table runner (although I'm hoping for a sofa throw) made before I've had enough or I get tired of making fish. Maybe my fish will have to swim very far apart!
But - how cool is it that I have collected all of these oranges and greens. Yes, I did visit my local quilt shop Quilted Threads and bought a few batiks on sale this weekend. After all, I got a gift card for Christmas! I took this photo before my shopping trip, though.
Let me know in the comments below what you think of my new branding. And let me know what you think of my possible plans for short videos, group coaching, an online course, and an in-person retreat. I'm excited about the possibilities, and hope you are, too!
But how cool is it that I have collected all of these oranges and greens - and even lots of lights for the backgrounds - and now I have a great use for them!
